Titanium dioxide is mainly used in the following fields: coating, plastic, printing ink and paper making. Among which, coating occupies 60%, plastic 20%, paper 14%, and others (including cosmetics, chemical fiber, electronics, pottery and porcelain, enamel, welding rod, alloy, and glass, etc) 6%.
Titanium dioxide can act as the coloring agent in the rubber industry, but also functions reinforcing, preventing aging and filling. When adding the titanium dioxide in the white and colorful rubber products, the products even under the sunlight won’t crack and fade, and with big stretching rate, sunlight resistance, acid and alkali resistance. Titanium dioxide in the plastic industry is mainly used in automobile tyres, rubber shoes, rubber floor, gloves, sports equipment, and so on, generally with anatase type as the bulk. But when it is used in the production of automobile tyres, it is often added to a certain amount of rutile products so as to enhance the ability of ozone resistance and ultraviolet resistance.
Titanium dioxide is also widely used in cosmetics. Due to its non-toxic property, titanium dioxide is far superior to lead white, and almost all kinds of face powders use it to replace the lead white and zinc white. Adding only 5%- 8% of the titanium dioxide, we can get permanent white and make the spice more satiny and have adhesive force, absorptive power and covering power. In gouache and cold cream, titanium dioxide can reduce greasy and increase transparent feeling. And it can also be added to other spices, sunscreen creams, soap flakes, white soaps and toothpastes. The titanium dioxide of cosmetic grade can be divided into oily and aqueous ones. Due to its stable chemical performance, high refractive index, high opacity, high hiding power, good whiteness, and being non-toxic, it is widely used in the cosmetics field, playing the role of cosmetic whitening.
Performance and characteristics:
1. High whiteness, strong hiding power.
2. It belongs to the hydrophilic and oleophylic products and it overcomes the defects of common titanium dioxide, for example, it is not easy to disperse and easy to precipitate for common titanium dioxide in its own scattered systems, significantly improving its dispersibility and precipitation resistance and making your product more stable and satisfactory.
3. Strong weatherability
4. Good compatibility with other cosmetic raw materials. |
